At MR Primary Care, we believe that the best medicine is rooted in relationship. Our practice at 139 East 57th Street wasn’t just built on clinical excellence—it was founded on a legacy of heart and personal care established by Dr. George Liakeas, MD.

Affectionately known to decades of New Yorkers as "Dr. George," he envisioned a Midtown practice where the fast-paced energy of Manhattan met the warmth of a small-town doctor’s office. Today, while the name has transitioned from Lexington Medical Associates to MR Primary Care, the spirit of excellence Dr. George founded remains our guiding principle.

For all non-concierge patients of Dr. Liakeas: We are honored to continue being your medical home. While Dr. George has transitioned to a membership-based concierge model, MR Primary Care remains the designated home for his primary care and Lexington Medical Associates patients.  You do not need to look for a new provider or transfer files. Our team, led by Dr. Xequiel Hernandez, is here to provide the same compassionate care you trust, at the same location, and with your medical records already on file.

About Dr. George Liakeas, MD

For over 25 years, Dr. George Liakeas has been a pillar of the New York medical community. A graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he spent his career earning the highest accolades, including being named one of Castle Connolly’s "Top Doctors" and featured in New York Magazine from 2017 through 2025.

His clinical expertise is matched by his deep commitment to the city:

• NYC Marathon Medical Captain: Serving the running community since 2001.

• Hellenic Medical Society of New York: Past President and active leader.

• Academic Leader: A teaching physician for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and New York Medical College.

While Dr. George now focuses on his specialized concierge practice and his role as Medical Director of Smooth Synergy, his philosophy of "Patients First" is the blueprint for our daily operations at MR Primary Care.
