By subway: The E train is the easiest one-seat ride. Board at 50 St on Eighth Avenue and ride to Lexington Av/53 St, then walk four blocks north to 57th Street.

By bus: The M57 crosstown runs along 57th Street directly to our corner. The M31 also serves 57th Street on the east end.

On foot: From the center of Hell's Kitchen it's roughly a 25-minute crosstown walk, so the E train or M57 is usually quicker.

Why Hell's Kitchen Residents Choose MR Primary Care

Hell's Kitchen, also known as Clinton, is one of Manhattan's most dynamic west side neighborhoods, home to a large LGBTQ community, theater and hospitality workers, and a growing population in the towers around Hudson Yards. Many residents keep non-traditional hours and want a practice that fits around their schedule and treats every patient with respect.

That respect is the starting point. We provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care in a welcoming environment, take sexual health and mental health seriously without judgment, and build ongoing relationships so the same team knows your history rather than starting over each visit.

Feeling comfortable with your provider is half the battle. Dr. Xequiel Hernandez, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician fluent in English and Spanish, known for an approachable, judgment-free style. Pamela Cameau, PA-C brings women's health experience from Mt. Sinai's OB/GYN division, and Ester Shavalian, PA focuses on preventive care and women's health. All three are currently accepting new patients from Hell's Kitchen, and you can read their full backgrounds on our primary care doctors page.

“Sexual health is health. We should be having that discussion at the doctor's office.”

Dr. Xequiel Hernandez, MD, who previously led Mount Sinai's uptown LGBTQIA+ division

Our weekly Women's Health Wednesdays block at the Midtown office gives women's health its own unhurried, inclusive time, from cervical screening to hormone care.
