Finding time for women's health care in New York isn’t always easy. Between work, family, and long wait times at busy clinics, many visits get pushed off for months. That's why we built Women's Health Wednesdays. It's a weekly block at our Midtown office set aside just for women's health issues that are not part of a standard annual physical – from Pap smears to menopause care, birth control, and hormone concerns.
Pap Smears, Menopause Care, and Birth Control, All in One Place
Women's health touches many areas at once. Hormones, reproductive health, and mental health all interact, and they deserve real time in the exam room. During your Wednesday visit, we can cover:
Pap smears and cervical cancer screening based on your age and history. 2025 ACS guidance recommends primary HPV testing starting at 25 years old, with co testing or pap alone as alternatives. If you've been searching for a Pap smear in NYC, this is a simple way to get it booked.
Annual women's health exams to check overall wellness and screen for common issues
Birth control counseling across every method, from pills and IUDs to long-term options
Menstrual concerns such as heavy periods, irregular cycles, painful periods, and PMS
Perimenopause and menopause symptoms include hot flashes, sleep changes, mood shifts, and vaginal dryness. See our full guide on finding a menopause specialist in NYC if you want a deeper look.
Hormone-related issues such as PCOS, thyroid concerns, and hormone panels
Mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, and stress-related symptoms
UTI evaluation and treatment with same-visit testing when needed
STD and STI testing with both screening and symptom-based care
On-site lab testing so you leave with next steps, not a to-do list
Many patients come in for one reason and leave with several things handled. That's the goal. One appointment, real answers, clear next steps.
Meet the Providers
Your care during Women's Health Wednesdays comes from two experienced clinicians who work together closely.
Dr. Hernandez is board-certified and brings years of family medicine experience to women's health. He's known for clear communication (in English and Spanish), a thorough style, and a strong focus on prevention.
Pamela Cameau, PA-C focuses on patient education and chronic condition management, and comes from Mt Sinai, where she worked in the ObGyn care unit. Patients often describe her as empathetic, attentive, and easy to talk to.
Both providers see women of all ages, from patients in their 20s starting birth control for the first time to patients navigating menopause. You'll get care from a clinician who listens, explains, and takes your concerns seriously.
How It Works
We've set up Women's Health Wednesdays to feel simple from start to finish. Here's what to expect:
Initial visits run about 45 minutes. That gives you time to share your history, ask questions, and complete any needed exams or lab work. We don't rush these visits.
Follow-up visits run about 15 minutes. Most are focused on one concern, such as a lab result, a medication check, or a symptom update. You get what you need without the added time.
All lab work happens on-site. You don't need a second trip to a separate lab. Most results come back within days and are reviewed with you over phone, message, or a short follow-up visit.
Booking happens through ZocDoc. Pick your time slot, confirm your insurance, and arrive ready. Our staff can help verify coverage ahead of your visit if you're unsure.
All Wednesday visits take place in person at 139 E 57th Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10022. The office is near Lexington Avenue and multiple subway lines.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
A little prep helps your visit go smoothly:
A photo ID and your current health insurance card
A list of current medications and supplements with doses
Notes on any symptoms, including when they started and how often they happen
The date of your last period, if that's relevant
Records of past Pap smears, mammograms, or gynecologic procedures if available
Your questions, written down so nothing gets missed
If you've had care somewhere else before, we can request records ahead of time. Just ask our staff when you book.
Insurance and Payment
We accept most major PPO and commercial insurance plans, along with many Medicare Advantage options. Our staff can verify your benefits before your appointment and let you know about any copay or deductible. If you'd like to pay out of pocket, we offer transparent self-pay pricing and discuss costs upfront.
Many preventive visits, including Pap smears and annual exams, are covered in full by insurance. Diagnostic care, such as follow-up for a specific symptom, may be billed differently. We'll explain the difference before your visit.
