Stay Protected This Season with Flu Shots at MRHS
Each year, seasonal influenza affects millions of people across the United States. At Manhattan Restorative Health Sciences (MRHS), we make it easy to stay protected with convenient flu vaccine appointments in New York City.
Our Midtown Manhattan clinic provides annual flu shots for adults and teens in a comfortable, professional setting. All visits are by appointment, and we offer same-day scheduling during flu season. Call us at 212-750-5088 or schedule online to book an appointment.
Why Get the Flu Shot?
The flu vaccine is the most effective way to reduce your risk of influenza and help protect people around you. While many cases are mild, the flu can lead to serious complications, particularly for older adults, young children, and people with underlying health conditions.
Getting vaccinated each year helps to:
Reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization
Protect family members, coworkers, and your broader community
Limit the spread of flu during peak season
Strengthen immunity against current circulating strains
Even healthy adults benefit from yearly vaccination, since flu strains change over time and immunity from last year’s shot may fade over time.
Flu Vaccine Services at MRHS
Our Midtown Manhattan clinic offers influenza vaccination appointments throughout the season for both individuals and employer groups. We carry the latest quadrivalent influenza vaccines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Available Options
Standard-dose flu vaccine for adults under 65
High-dose and adjuvanted vaccines for adults 65 and older
Preservative-free options for patients with allergies
Flu shots for healthcare workers and corporate groups
Appointments typically take about 15 minutes, including screening and brief observation.
Flu Shot Prices & Insurance
We believe preventive care should be accessible and straightforward.
With insurance: Many plans cover the flu shot at no cost to you.
Without insurance: Please call us to confirm current self-pay pricing.
Payment Options: We accept major credit cards, HSA/FSA, and provide itemized receipts.
If you’re uninsured or paying out-of-pocket, our staff can explain your options when booking.
Who Should Get the Flu Vaccine?
The CDC recommends annual flu vaccination for most people aged six months and older, except in rare cases. Vaccination is especially important for:
Adults 50 and older
Pregnant women
People with asthma, diabetes, or chronic heart/lung conditions
Healthcare workers and caregivers
Students and frequent travelers
Our clinicians will review your medical history and help determine which vaccine is best suited to you.
When to Get Vaccinated
Flu season in New York typically peaks between December and March. The best time to receive your shot is early fall, ideally by October, but getting your shot later in the season can still offer meaningful protection.
We offers flu shot appointments throughout the season to make staying protected as simple as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the flu shot protection last?
The flu shot provides protection for about six to twelve months. Because the virus strains mutate every year and your immunity naturally declines over time, the CDC recommends getting a new, updated vaccine every flu season (typically between September and May).
Can the flu vaccine give me the flu?
No. The injectable flu vaccine contains an "inactivated" (dead) virus and cannot cause influenza. Some patients may experience a low-grade fever or muscle aches as their immune system builds protection, but this is not the flu.
What is the difference between the standard and high-dose flu shot?
At MR Primary Care, we offer the high-dose vaccine specifically for patients aged 65 and older. This version contains four times the amount of antigen as a regular shot to create a stronger immune response, as the immune system tends to weaken with age.
When is the best time to get my flu shot in NYC?
Ideally, you should get vaccinated by the end of October. However, because flu season in New York often peaks between December and March, getting vaccinated even in January or February still offers significant protection for the remainder of the season.
Do I need an appointment, or do you take walk-ins?
We operate by appointment but often have same-day availability. Call us at 917-722-4491 to see if a slot is available right now.
Can I get the flu vaccine if I have an egg allergy?
Most people with egg allergies can safely receive any licensed flu vaccine. If you have a severe egg allergy, please notify our medical team during check-in so we can discuss the best options and monitor you appropriately.
Is the flu shot free with my insurance?
Most insurance plans cover flu vaccination at no out-of-pocket cost. We also offer affordable self-pay rates for those without insurance.
Can I get my flu shot and a travel vaccine at the same time?
In many cases, yes. Many patients visiting our clinic for travel health consultations choose to get their seasonal flu shot during the same visit as their Yellow Fever or Typhoid vaccinations. Our clinicians will review your health history to confirm what is appropriate for you.
Do you provide flu shot clinics for NYC businesses?
Yes. We work with many corporate groups and healthcare employers in Manhattan to provide organized vaccination services. Please contact us at 917-722-4491 to discuss arranging a block of appointments for your team.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID and your insurance card. If you require a vaccination certificate for your employer or school, please let our staff know so we can provide the documentation immediately following your shot.
